Hey!

I love the Zoo Babies stamp set! I've had it for awhile now but haven't had much time to play around with it. So I knew I wanted to try and incorporate it in this challenge. See the original sketch at http://www.papercraftcrew.com

Here is how it turned out.

Here are the products I used to create this card:

Twitterpated DSP
- Raspberry Ripple cardstock

- 1 3/4" burlap ribbon (cut in strips)
- Sycamore street designer button
- Zoo babies stamp set
- Sweet Essentials stamp set
- heart punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack

- large oval
- rhinestones

Thanks for checking out my kreation!

Creative Card Challenge 008

Ok, well I am already doing better at this blog thing... two posts in as many days!!

I found another card challenge I wanted to try! It is a newer site called creativechallengeclubs.blogspot.ca

For this card I decided to do something a little different. It may be hard to see from the pictures but instead of cutting a circle out and gluing it on my card base, I cut the circle out of the card base! The card is very simple, and I debated about filling the white space in the upper left corner but I wasn't entirely sure what to put there... so it stayed blank!

Here are the products I used:

- Soft Sky card stock (SU!)
- Soft Suede ink pad (SU!)
- Linen thread (SU!)
- Stylin' Girl stamp set (SU!)
- Sweet Essentials stamp set (SU!)
- Petite petals stamp set and punch (SU!)
- Everyday Enchantment DSP (SU!)
- Tangerine Tango card stock (SU!)
- copper brad

My folded card size is 6.5"x5".
I cut out a 4.25" circle from the card base. Then I cut out a 4" circle of soft sky card stock and cut it in half and stamped my cute little girl on it. I glued the DSP on the inside of the card and used dimensionals to attach the half circle. I inked the edges of the card and around the circle too. I stamped my flower image and cut it out using the petite petals punch. Wrapped the linen thread and stamped my 'hello,' and BAM! Done. Okay it sounds easy now, but it did actually take a lot longer messing around with colours!

Thanks for checking it out!

Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #105

Hello once again! So it's only been 5 years since my last (and only) post... not too much has happened in that time, we've only moved twice, had a baby, and my husband finished school and found a great job. Nope not much at all ;) Also during this time I have found a new passion...making cards! In fact I love it so much I have a become an independent demonstrator with Stampin' Up! I love their products and I've found it is such a great way for me, someone who is not very artistic, to make neat things, using stamps and paper.

I've found some great websites that have fun card making challenges that I would like to participate in, but for some of them you need a blog, so that is my main motivation in getting back on the blog.

My first challenge is from papercraftcrew.com. It is card sketch challenge #105.

I decided to make a Halloween card! I used
- Stampin' Up! Howlstooth &        Scaringbone DSP,
- Googly Ghouls stamp set (SU!)
- 1.5" wide burlap (SU!)
- old olive card stock (SU!)
- black card stock (which I embossed but it is hard to see from the picture!)
- black jewels (dollar store)

Enjoy!!

Wow!

I never thought I would have a blog, but here I am! I guess I will start off with a little bit about me. I'm a wife and mother to two beautiful children, Jayden (almost 3), and Kyrah (10 months...today!) After I had Kyrah, I wanted to make cute little dresses for her, and while looking for patterns I found a diaper bag pattern. I thought what a cool idea, I can make myself a diaper bag out of any fabric I want! I don't have to be limited to what they carry pre-made at the store. So I bought it... and made one and I loved it! So I thought, why don't I try making others and selling them? I had been looking for a way to stay at home with my kids, so I thought, maybe this is it! I made a few diaper bags and dresses, and then I got stuck, wondering how to go about selling my items. My sister-in-law, called me this morning and offered to help me get things going, by setting this up, and working on coming up with a logo for me.

My family and I are in the process of moving, but hopefully I'll still be able to get a couple more diaper bags and dresses done before the summer is done.

Stay tuned,
Kelsey
